What's Happening?: A cabal of young and over-eager arcanists have gotten it into their heads that their study circle has pieced together the rites needed to power a ruined arcane engine buried in the crest of the Black Horse Hill. They need at least four more participants, though, to hold reagents and equipment, chant the rotes they've reconstructed, and -- most importantly -- give up some lifeforce to juice up the engine.

They're both right and wrong. The ritual doesn't miraculously restore the ruined engine or even fully energize the remnants, but it does release enough of the twisted, broken relic to free the Hill's now mythical guardian in a cloud of gold-black smoky coils and uncountable beating wings. That ancient celestial being is grateful for the reprieve but less than enthused with the current state of affairs or the potential for damage the young cabal is toying with -- to say nothing of what they may think of, or intervene over, those who answered the broadsheet with even less foreknowledge.
